10th Anniversary Celebration of S-S Records

The weekend long festival to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Sacramento's own S-S Records is almost upon us.

Starting tonight, and running through Sunday evening, S-S approved bands, DJs, and even record swap vendors have been lined up for your pain and pleassure.

Alles going on within the San Fransisco city limits (yeah, it's sort of funny that this is not in Sacramento but whateves), May 19th - 22nd.

Are you ready for Maximum Freedom this weekend????????? BETTER BE!

KDVS' Operation: Restore Maximum Freedom festival is coming up this Saturday (May 14th). This will be the 11th time the voluntteers of KDVS have executed this event. This time around we have the legendary R. Stevie Moore headlining alongside the infamous NoBunny. More information to come in an later post [including event location, time, and complete line-up].

Threw down a few R. Stevie Moore tracks during this show in hopes of getting folks ready for the festival.

Loves + Disloves 2011 Fundraiser Show - APRIL 21ST 10-11PM

KDVS 90.3 FM in Davis is currently in the throws of its annual on-air fundraiser, running this year from April 18th to April 24th. As you may or may not know, KDVS is the UCDavis student/community radio station. It is truly one of the last bastions of freeform radio in the country.

What is freeform, you may ask. Simply put: Music DJs, public affairs hosts, and news reporters have complete control over what they broadcast. As KDVS DJs we are not required to adhere to a song rotation, or broadcast information that has been prescribed to us by an overseeing entity.

On average, about 1/2 to 2/3 of the KDVS annual operating budget comes from contributions made by our listeners, families, and friends during our fundraiser drive. You can help KDVS reach it's 2011 goal of $60,000 by pledging your support and $$s.

I've been a steady volunteer and DJ at KDVS for the past seven years. My current radio program, Loves and Disloves, has been airing since Spring of 2008, every Thursday night from 10-11PM. My personnel fundraiser show goal this year will be $600. Help me reach this goal by pledging either via phone or online between 10pm - 11pm PST, Thursday, April 21st.
